Quick Connect
SOS Remote Support
Let us connect and fix it
Follow the interactive guide below to let a Plan-IT engineer securely connect to your device.
Download the SOS client
Click the button below to download the Splashtop SOS client. It's a small, safe file that runs directly — no installation needed.
Download SOS ClientPop-up blocked? Look for a pop-up notification in your browser's address bar and click "Allow".
Still nothing? Right-click the download button above and choose "Open link in new tab" to download manually.
Open the downloaded file
Your browser will show the download. Here's where to find it:
Download bubble appears bottom-left. Chrome may warn about .exe files — click "Keep", then click the file name to open it.
Click the downloads icon (down arrow) at the top right of the toolbar. In the panel, click "Open file". Or click ... menu → Downloads. SmartScreen? Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
The download arrow in the toolbar turns blue when the file arrives. Click it to see the downloads panel, then click the file or "Open file" to run it.
Click the download icon (circle with down arrow) next to the URL bar. Click "Open" on the file. If macOS blocks it, right-click → Open → confirm in the dialog.
You see "Windows protected your PC"
Click "More info"
Click "Run anyway"
This is normal — Windows shows this for any downloaded .exe file. The Splashtop SOS client is safe and trusted.
Share your 9-digit code
The SOS app will display a unique 9-digit session code. Share this code with your Plan-IT engineer.
Already on a call with us? Just read the code out — we'll do the rest.
Allow the connection
After your engineer enters the code, you'll see a permission prompt. Click "Allow" to let them connect.
We're connected — sit back
Your Plan-IT engineer can now see your screen and help resolve the issue. You can watch everything in real time.
While we're connected:
- You can see everything the engineer does — nothing is hidden
- You can type or use your mouse at any time
- Close the SOS window to instantly end the session
- Nothing is installed — once closed, the app is gone

Frequently asked questions
Is this safe and secure?
Yes. Splashtop SOS uses TLS 1.2+ encryption and 256-bit AES, the same security standard used by banks. Your session code is unique and one-time-use. No one can connect without your explicit permission.
Does it install anything on my computer?
No. The SOS client is portable — it runs directly from the downloaded file. Once you close it, nothing remains on your system.
Can I see what the engineer is doing?
Yes — everything happens on your screen in real time. You can see every mouse movement and keystroke. Close the SOS window at any time to disconnect.
What if Windows SmartScreen blocks it?
Click "More info", then "Run anyway". This is standard for downloaded .exe files and doesn't indicate a risk.
Does this work on Mac?
Yes. The download page detects your OS. On Mac, you may need to grant Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions in System Preferences.
Do I need to be a Plan-IT client?
This tool is for existing clients during a support session. If you're not a client, contact us first.
